Chino is the boss of his little herd, Cimmeron & C.C., and sometimes tries to boss us humans. If other geldings are brought over to say hi, he is right there blocking the girls from getting to close.
He has put on about 100 lbs in the year we have had him. He would not eat hay when we first got him and this was due to needing dental work. His snacks are cut up in small pieces for him to be able to chew his food as he doesn’t have a lot of teeth left.
The sound of a carrot snapping will send him running. We figure this is a sound that brings back a bad memory, possibly a whip cracking. Thankfully, he comes right back knowing he isn’t in a horrible place anymore. He is blind in one eye, we don’t know how this happened or when.
When the sun is shining on him, his coat glistens of gold shimmer adding to the beauty of the buckskin coloring.
